Have you bought a new camera and want to learn how it works? Or do you wish to move beyond taking all your photos on Auto mode and gain more creative control? Do you want to take portraits or capture beautiful travel photos?  If you’re a beginner who wants to take high-quality digital photos for a hobby, for work or to kick-start a career, this workshop is the one that’s right for you.

Cost: $250

This is a practical hands-on workshop aimed at beginners. It’s designed to get you on the path to using your DSLR or mirrorless digital camera with full understanding and creative control.
Move away from ‘Auto’ and learn how and when to use your cameras other modes to capture personal and unique photographs.


Cool stuff you’ll learn:

  • The different functions and what all the buttons are on your camera

  • Camera modes and when to use them (aperture/shutter/manual)

  • Shutter speed (freezing & blurring motion)

  • Aperture (Depth of Field)

  • ISO, Exposure Triangle, Metering modes & White Balance

  • Auto Focus settings

  • Image quality and file formats

  • Composition

  • Lens & gear choice

Each participant will also get a booklet of workshop notes for future reference and note-taking (recommended for DSLR or mirrorless cameras only). Lunch is not included. There is a café on site where you can purchase lunch, or please bring your own.
